Autumn is here. What else is there to do, than prepare some tea, wrap yourself up in a warm blanket and make some digital pumpkins!
Process: Made the high poly from scratch in Zbrush. Then retopo and UVs in Blender. Painted it in Substance Painter and made the video in After Effects. The clouds were rendered from a free VDB in Blender (EVEE is so fast with volumetrics!).
The staircase was also Blender and Substance Painter.
To quickly generate variations of carvings I duplicated my finished base pumpkin and used the knife tool to make the faces without destoying the UV layout.
